You get what you pay for, but at least with this watch you get absolutely everything you pay for. It's a nice, simple every day utility watch. It looks OK, it keeps pretty good time, it hasn't fallen apart yet and it doesn't turn your wrist green. That's just about everything you can hope for from a $30 wristwatch.


This watch is very good for long-term and rugged wear, looks nice and can be worn with business dress, and it works under water.


I received this almost the moment I ordered it. I love this watch and wear it every day.


I purchased this watch in May because I wanted something simple in design, easy to read with a medium sized face. Having had similar "Expedition" watches before, I figured this one would be as reliable as previous Timex purchases. Not this time. In mid-September, the watch started stopping at odd times. Re-setting the time would get it working again for a day or two and then it would just stop again (mostly during the night for some odd reason). I don't know whether the battery was starting to go, but I would assume that with a new watch, you should expect to get more than just 4 months out of the battery before having to replace it. In any case, if I replaced the battery and that was not the problem (usually when the battery goes, the watch won't work after you re-set it, it just stops working period), I would be throwing good money after bad. I don't know if this is a problem for this model or if I just got a "bad" watch, but I would not recommend it to anyone. All in all, my first bad purchase from Amazon.


I bought this watch for my wife, who wanted a work watch. It's easy to read face with luminous dial added to the simple time set, makes this an excellent gift. I like this style and ruggedness maybe more than she did. She was very pleased with the watch.

Timex Men's Expedition Metal Analog and Digital Combo Watch #T41361

I could not do better than some of the other reviewers, like the most outstanding review by Mr. Preston, but I will add that this is a really nice watch. It is true that the hands are pretty close in color to the dial, and that can mean the "time" does not jump out at you, but it looks great and is worth it for the touch of fashion. The alarm is quite loud and the features give you whatever you could want in an inexpensive, knock around or travel watch. I was surprised the band seemed so substantial... I guess I was expecting a more flimsy thin leather, but this is really nice and sturdy. So far, time is accurate and the features all work. Buttons are solid and Timex makes a good product. Amazon is great, so convenient and quick shipping... love this site. Get the watch if you want a reliable, low key travel companion, .... Get it.... but just save a few in case I want another one in the future.


i'm very glad of this watch. only things i don't like are black plastic buttons which don't look good in steel watch. those buttons work very good though.


This watch has a beatufil finish and the best analog - digital features of any watch at any price. One of the four digital set button fell out when adjusting new. I've owned four resin Expedition watches in five years. This stainless steel version is more refined and robust, but Expedition set buttons and bezels are a weak point. I have to return it, but I do want another. It is accurate to within seconds a month.


Up until today, I would've rated the watch with five stars, easily. Looks great, feels solid, feature packed, overall an excellent daily beater, BUT, the digital functions stopped working today and it's no longer switching between modes. While trying to get to the chronograph function, it simply gave a loud constant beep noise for about two minutes and now it's simply stuck in alarm mode. I've taken great care of this watch, and while not wearing it (mainly for office use) I store it in a watchbox with the rest of my watch collection (so it's not a question of abuse). Too bad too, I really liked this watch (so much, that I might even give it another shot considering the price). Oh well, Timex is known for reliability so maybe I was just unlucky, who knows.


The watch is fine. Possibly a bit heavier than I had anticipated but you get used to it. The multiple functions are easier to use than older versions but for me, just as complicated. The leather strap is better than previous Timex watches. Overall I think it is an excellent value for the price!

Timex Men's Metal Field Expedition Brown Leather Strap Watch #T47012

This watch is gloss black. The photo looks mat grey. I notified Amazon of this by email and they sent me a second watch(why i will never know) and then tried to bill me for it. Then I had to spend more time working with Amazon on the phone to get mailing lables to send the second watch back. In the end I ended up with the original ugly gloss black watch. I will never use Amazon again.


Though this is no doubt a great watch, it's not the gray, brushed metal finish as shown on amazon or on the Timex website. The case is black, which in my opinion changes the whole look of the watch. I read some reviews where folks like the black; for me, it doesn't work. I don't know if there was a switch at some time, but come on, how hard is it to change the picture??


I bought this watch at a Timex store a few months ago for a travel time piece. Within a week or two I dropped it on a soft surface and the rear metal case cove popped open! I brought to the store and the clerk was trying to blame me. I finally told him I have had watches that have been through wars and have never had the rear case pop off. He finally have me the new watch same model, though he treated me like I was stupid.I happen to be in the 'business', so I doubt this is the case. Two weeks later I had my watch off sitting on the drier. It fell 4 feet onto a rug, and you guessed it, the rear case cover popped off. It was lucky I had a witness for the first incident. The salesman actually pressed the rear case cover back on and dropped it on the floor and gave it back to me, telling me it didn't pop off. no refund of course for faulty design. So I ponied up another pile of dosh for a Timex T49618, screw in rear case cover good for 200 meters. No surprises after 24 hrs......


I love this watch. I love being able to see the time regardless of lighting or weather conditions.


Good price. Runs perfectly. Very clear display. Black face. Comfortable strap. Large white hands with small red sweep second hand. Most watches are hard to read unless you stare at them. I wanted one that I could glance at for a tenth of a second and see the time. (Say while driving at 60 MPH) This one is perfect.


Overall watch dimensions are fine with me. Colour of the metal surround was black rather than the grey displayed, but that was OK.
Date display window is approx 2mm (less than 1/4 inch), so small in fact that it is practically unreadable unless in very bright light, read from directly in front and you stop to really concentrate.
Very happy with the watch otherwise and satisfied with this purchase.


Nice design and simple watch operation for an everyday timepiece. And Timex reliability is top notch.


I have owned 3 of these over time and each was a great watch.I unfortunately tend to lose them.




Watch is very nice looking--much nicer than the photo--rugged and masculine. Face is easy to read and Indiglo lighting is wonderful! It's one of the heaviest watches I've owned. Primary drawbacks are 1) cannot adjust date directly (you must wind the dial 24 turns to advance the date); 2) the date is so small it's difficult to read.

For the money it's a great watch. I would definitely recommend it.

I really enjoyed this watch...until it started losing time. I'm not sure if it is a defect or if the battery was going bad. I thought it was the latter, so I took the back off, popped in a new battery, and that's where my story ends. You see, the back is impossible to put back on. I tried pliers, but chipped the glass in the front trying to get the thing on. It's sad, because I really enjoyed this watch.


The watch works fine and looks good. I had a similar Timex Expedition watch that lasted longer than any watch I have ever had. The only problem I had with this new watch is that it is very difficult to take links out of the band. The locking pins for the links are very tight.


This is the second watch of this model I have owned. The first one lasted 5 years. It would have lasted longer but was accidentally broken by something no watch would survive. I have also owned Swiss Army watches. In my opinion, this watch is as good, actually has better features (indiglow) and is a fraction of the cost.


I personally don't wear Timex watches, but I think the brand is reliable and well made. I bought this for a male friend as a gift and he loves it. The "glow" thing is fun at the movies, but you'll need popcorn.



This is a great watch. I've had it for a couple years now. My sweat usually destroys watches within 2 years and this one is holding up great against my super-villain acid sweat.

Setting the date is a little odd. You pull the stem out halfway to set it. That part is straightforward. The problem is that the date changes at 12am. But, you don't know if the watch "thinks" it's 12am or 12pm. When it's off, the date will change at noon. In that case you have to wind the time back 12 hours, then it works as it is supposed to.


The Timex Men's Classic Analog Metal Field Expedition Watch #T44381 is a good value for the money. The one drawback is a very undersized window for the date. Also, the directions for use are confusing.


I am not easy on anything I own. I usually purchase books used for this exact reason(why spend more if i'm going to kill it anyway). That being said, this has been on my wrist since, erm, well early 2000. So, well over eight years of daily (ab)use. Just a few months ago, I finally managed to scratch the crystal. And I am constantly walking into walls, come into a room *bam* right on the threshold. There is plenty of paint on the face which has to get fingernailed off every so ofter. And then there are the times I get the thing wet. 8 years of showers baths etc, 5 2 hour trips down the Little Miami River in a tube, countless hours of swimming(though that has backed off as of late ): and WAY too many hours in dish water; nary a DROP of moisture inside this thing. And that is even after taking the back off about 5 times to change the battery. I did have to get a new watchband once. But, to my memory Timex sent me a new one for seven bucks shipping.

The other day, my coworker was showing off her Molvado(sp?) watch, I laughed.


I got this watch for my husband for his birthday. It came in the mail, and when I presented it to him, he liked it very much. Now, about a month later, he is still telling me how much he likes it. Nice leather band, and really nice colors. Yeah!


I bought this watch when my seiko eco watch was sent out for repair. Arrived 4 days after ordering. Comfortable and looks sharp. It takes about 2 weeks to break in the band.I have had it about a month now. I think it is going to replace my seiko as a daily wear watch.
p.s. Have now had watch about 3 months. No complaints.



I use this watch as my everyday watch. I am an aircraft mechanic and it can withstand the abuse my job entails, from chemicals to frequent bumping into things and tight situations. I've enjoyed this watch so much that this is the second one I've purchased and would recommend it to anyone who works hard.
