This timex men's watch combines the classic styling of an analog watch with the added functionality of a digital display. It has a clean look with a dark gray dial and white Arabic-numeral indexes, encapsulated in a round silver-tone bezel and a mineral crystal. A digital display along the bottom of the face provides the chronograph functionality as well as the day, date, and month. It has a stainless steel bracelet and quartz movement, and it features the Indiglo night light. It is water resistant to 165 feet (50 meters) and is covered by the manufacturer's 1-year warranty.
For $45, I got a sweet stainless steel watch that is suitable for casual, formal, or professional wear (I am a resident physician). It's a good size (very masculine, but not excessively large) and, unlike other digital/analog watches I've owned, the analog and digital components do not go out of sync (at least not in the few months I've owned it). I don't use the alarm on the watch (I used my cell phone), so its low volume is of no concern to me. There's a stopwatch and timer, which is great because I am a runner. The indiglo has 2 settings: (1) hold the button for light or (2) press the button and the light stays on for 5 seconds. I got the band adjusted by a local jeweler because the instructions that come with the watch are awful, but now it fits perfectly. Finally, the weight of the watch is average to me (which is a good thing). I am used to wearing larger watches, so this is much better. In conclusion, if any of the following apply to you, then this watch will be perfect for you too:
- Low cost watch that can be worn casually, formally, and professionally
- Want functionality of digital watch, but appearance of analog watch
- Want a digital/analog watch that actually stays in sync after being set
- Consider alarm, stopwatch, and timer as extras, not requirements
The watch was what I wanted, except..the "adjustable" watch band isn't. The written instructions for removing links don't seem to match the product, and I've pretty much destroyed the watch band in trying to shorten it.
This a clean looking, classy watch. But like most men's metal watches, it is heavy. It isn't the heaviest I've owned or tried on, but after a full day of wear, I can't wait to take the watch off when I get home.
This is one of the best watches I've had. It is nice, professional looking, while still having a lot of gadgets. I've looked at Citizen, and Seiko watches with some of the same qualities, of course they cost $300-500. This watch for $50 price range, offers most of the same features, AND most importantly the INDIGLO light is a extremely useful. I'm thinking about ordering a "back-up", in case Timex stops making them.
I've owned this watch for a couple of years now and have been very pleased. It looks sharp and has a number of great features, including the Indiglo backlighting, alarm, and digital/analog functions. After wearing it 24/7 for a long time, the crystal and band are unscarred, so it is quite tough! It maintains accurate time, too. I'd rather own this Timex than a Rolex.
